BEML, HSL Collaborate to Develop Advanced Indigenous Marine Systems

BEML Ltd. has partnered with Hindustan Shipyard Ltd. (HSL) to develop advanced marine systems. The agreement was formalized by BEML CMD Shantanu Roy and HSL CMD Hemant Khatri, along with senior officials from both companies in New Delhi. This strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focuses on co-creating innovative, indigenous marine systems, encompassing design, manufacturing, and lifecycle support.

Under the MoU, BEML will lead the design and development of specialized systems, leveraging its expertise in platform engineering and structural optimization. In turn, HSL will enhance indigenization efforts and utilize BEML’s strong production capabilities, especially in defense and heavy engineering sectors.

BEML, which operates under the Ministry of Defence, is involved in construction and mining, rail and metro, and defense and aerospace. HSL, recognized as the country’s leading shipbuilding organization, specializes in shipbuilding, repairs, submarine construction, and the design of complex offshore and onshore structures. This collaboration aims to strengthen India’s capabilities in advanced marine technologies and support national defense initiatives.
