DNV Group President and CEO Remi Eriksen participated in a high-level roundtable with India’s Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, emphasizing deepened cooperation. Subsequently, DNV signed a newbuilding classification agreement with Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. for four multi-purpose vessels, showcasing innovative features like hybrid propulsion and advanced cybersecurity measures.
Another significant development was the signing of a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between DNV and Larsen & Toubro, aimed at advancing shipbuilding and digital solutions while supporting the broader India-Norway collaboration on green shipping and decarbonization initiatives. Minister Sonowal deemed this partnership pivotal for India’s maritime transformation.
