The 3-day Maritime India Conference is set to kick off in Mumbai, with a focus on exploring business opportunities within the domestic ports and shipping sector. Organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), the event expects to attract 7,500 stakeholders from 11 countries, including the US, UAE, Singapore, and Norway.

The conference will delve into six key strategic themes crucial to India’s maritime future, emphasizing the adoption of smart technologies and sustainable practices to transform ports. Efforts to decarbonize the maritime sector will also be highlighted, showcasing the industry’s commitment to environmentally-friendly practices.

Industry experts will lead discussions on shifting trends in maritime logistics, India’s growing cruise industry, and advancements in shipbuilding and repair capabilities. The event will feature innovative solutions and emerging technologies that are shaping the maritime sector, cutting across various aspects of the program.

The Maritime India Conference provides a platform for policymakers and industry stakeholders to engage in dialogue on regulatory priorities and sector reforms. Topics such as port modernization, shipping infrastructure, logistics capabilities, and international collaboration and funding opportunities will be thoroughly examined. Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, is expected to deliver a keynote address during the event. Dhruv Kotak, managing director of JM Baxi Group and chairman of the FICCI Committee on Transport Infrastructure, highlighted the conference’s role in supporting the transformation of India’s maritime landscape in line with the Maritime India Vision 2030.
