In Andhra Pradesh, the Greenfield Machilipatnam Port is emerging as a cutting-edge maritime center, according to the MEIL Group. Significant construction efforts are underway, including the development of breakwaters, prefabricated vertical drains, dredging operations, berth creation, warehouses, administrative buildings, and road networks. These projects are being executed with precision and on a large scale.

The construction plan is meticulously organized, with 1,700 acres designated for the main port facilities and an additional 234 acres allocated for essential infrastructure. The berths are strategically arranged, featuring two oriented eastward and two westward. Among these, three berths accommodate various cargo types, while one is specifically designed for coal shipments.

The port is designed to facilitate vessels with a maximum capacity of 80,000 tons, navigating a carefully dredged approach channel that measures 13 kilometers in length, 450 meters in width, and has a depth of 17 meters. Once operational, the port is expected to manage an impressive 36 million tons of cargo annually.

This development aims to enhance regional trade and promote sustainable economic growth for local communities, as noted by the MEIL Group.
