On July 29, 2025, during a VPPL board meeting, Vadhvan Port Project Limited announced the development of street infrastructure to enhance the port’s growth and benefit local communities. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to integrated development.
The National Highways Authority of India is planning an 8-lane NH-248S highway linked to Vadhvan Port, improving connectivity with NH-8 and the Mumbai-Vadodara Expressway. This corridor will facilitate freight movement and regional development.
VPPL is also creating a dedicated two-lane service road for construction activities, which will be accessible to the public. The street plan will incorporate necessary infrastructure based on local community feedback, including underpasses, cross passages, and bridges, all provided at no cost to residents.
Shri Unmes Sharad Wagh, Chairman of JNPA and CMD of VPPL, emphasized the project’s dual aim of creating a world-class port while positively impacting surrounding areas. The enhanced connectivity will bolster local businesses, improve access to education and healthcare, and create better living opportunities. Ultimately, these developments aim to catalyze local trade and economic growth while adhering to global infrastructure standards.
