Furuno has launched the FELCOM20, an Inmarsat-C Ship Earth Station designed to fulfill GMDSS, LRIT, and SSAS requirements. Constructed for reliable ship-to-shore communication, the FELCOM20 ensures that mariners can operate confidently and safely in even the most challenging maritime conditions.
This versatile device supports multiple essential communication services, such as Email, Telex, Fax, Enhanced Group Call (EGC), and data reporting/polling. Users can navigate its features using either a touchscreen or a traditional keyboard, while Furuno’s intuitive icon-based interface enhances user experience, making system functions easy to access.
To enhance its utility, the FELCOM20 can integrate with various optional safety devices, including the IC305 Distress Alert/Received Call Unit, IC306 Alarm Unit, and IC307 SSAS Alert Unit, ensuring full compliance with the Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) when the IC307 is utilized. Additionally, the compact IC318 Junction Box simplifies installation, and the optional PP520 printer guarantees compliance with EGC receiver performance standards by providing printed records of navigational and safety messages.
The FELCOM20 is completely compliant with the latest IMO performance and IEC testing standards, making it an ideal choice for vessels that require robust and approved GMDSS equipment.
