Ghana’s GITA and NUSPAW Sign MOU to Enhance Seafarer Welfare and Rights

The Ghana Industrial Association of Trawlers (GITA) and the National Union of Seamen, Ports and Allied Workers (NUSPAW) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing the welfare and rights of seafarers. This agreement, established on May 16, 2025, seeks to enforce relevant laws that improve working conditions for those in the maritime sector.

The partnership underscores a commitment to ensuring that seafarers receive fair treatment and protection under labor laws. Both organizations recognize the critical role that seafarers play in the economy and are dedicated to advocating for their rights and better working environments.
