Dr. Angamuthu, the VPA Chairman, unfurled the national flag to mark the 75th Republic Day celebrations at the Port Stadium in Vizag. He announced plans for VPA to collaborate with NHAI and spend close to Rs. 300 crores on various projects aimed at VPA development and benefiting the citizens of Vizag. The VPA is working closely with the state government by approving CSF funds for these projects, and is committed to maintaining and improving key performance indicators to become one of the best ports in the country.

Dr. Angamuthu also discussed VPA’s green port initiatives, such as setting up solar power plants, plantations, and provision of CNG buses to reduce carbon emissions in Vizag City to zero by 2047. He emphasized the importance of involving citizens of Vizag in VPA activities and creating necessary infrastructural facilities accordingly.

The Republic Day celebrations included cultural programs with a patriotic theme and security demonstrations by the CISF. Dr. Angamuthu also presented awards to employees for their outstanding performance and recognized stakeholders for their achievements under the Special Campaign 3, Swatch Bharat Awards. This special day for VPA coincided with their 90th Foundation Year celebrations, and the VPA aims to continue involving citizens in their activities and development.
