The Inland Waterways Authority of India will host a roadshow in Guwahati on September 2, ahead of India Maritime Week 2025 in Mumbai. This event aims to unite policymakers and industry leaders to discuss the future of inland waterways, emphasizing river cruise tourism and urban water transport for sustainable growth.
The India Maritime Week will occur in Mumbai from October 27 to 31, drawing nearly 100,000 delegates from over 100 countries. Shipping Secretary T.K. Ramachandran emphasized the event’s goal of fostering dialogue and innovative, sustainable policies, with a target to create investment opportunities worth one lakh crore rupees.
The “Green and Digital Maritime Corridor” event in Mumbai, organized by the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority and the Indian Ports Association, showcased maritime leaders from India and abroad.
