Fincantieri and Princess Cruises have signed an agreement for three new LNG-powered cruise ships in the “Voyager” class, to be built at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone yard. Scheduled for delivery in 2035, 2038, and 2039, these vessels will enhance Princess’s fleet with lower-emission solutions, accommodating around 4,700 passengers each.
CMA CGM, the French shipping giant, is engaging with Indian shipyards to build LNG-powered container ships, enhancing its presence in India’s maritime sector. The company is also investing $200 million in the Nhava Sheva Freeport Terminal and exploring the Vadhavan Port project, while fostering innovation through maritime research hubs across India.
Crowley’s new LNG-powered containership, Quetzal, has set sail on its maiden commercial voyage, ushering in a new era in ocean shipping. The vessel can carry up to 1,400 TEUs and runs on cleaner LNG fuel. Designed for efficiency and versatility, these ships promise faster and more frequent services to various destinations.
