Fincantieri and Princess Cruises have signed a significant agreement for the construction of three new LNG-powered cruise ships, part of the new “Voyager” class. These vessels will be built at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone yard, with scheduled deliveries in 2035, 2038, and 2039. While financial details remain undisclosed, the contract is subject to financing and standard conditions.

Each ship will weigh approximately 183,000 gross tons and accommodate around 4,700 passengers, making them among the largest in the Princess fleet. Their LNG propulsion aligns with the cruise industry’s trend toward lower-emission solutions.

The announcement was made during Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami, further expanding Fincantieri’s substantial backlog, particularly at its Monfalcone facility, a key site for cruise ship construction.

This new order builds on Fincantieri’s recent deliveries of the Sun Princess (2024) and Star Princess (2025), both from the same yard. Over a 35-year partnership, Fincantieri has delivered or has on order more than two dozen vessels for Princess Cruises.
