VMSA Calls for Captain’s Arrest After MV Matui Disappearance
The Vanuatu Maritime Safety Authority has filed a criminal complaint regarding the MV Matui tragedy, urging the arrest of the captain. The vessel disappeared on September 11, carrying 53 individuals. So far, 14 have been rescued, and two confirmed dead, as search efforts continue amidst concerns over safety violations.
