The International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT) and the Federation of Freight Forwarding Associations of India (FFFAI) jointly organized the ‘India-And-World’ Business Forum in Mumbai from April 24 to 25, 2024. With the FFFAI joining the CCTT during the XXXII Plenary Meeting in Moscow in 2023, Mr. Shankar Shinde became Vice Chairman of the CCTT. Currently, the CCTT has 96 member societies from 23 countries, including railways of Europe, Asia, and the CIS states, leading shipping companies, operators, and forwarders.
The purpose of the forum was to establish and strengthen partnerships, promote the logistics services of CCTT member companies in the international transport market, and enhance efforts in developing the North-South International Transport Corridor. Key dignitaries such as Mr. Dushyant Mulani, Mr. Shankar Shinde, Mr. Gennady Bessonov, and others addressed the forum, which was attended by representatives from the industry stakeholders, ministries, and departments of Russia, India, and Europe.
The forum highlighted India’s economic progress, with Mr. Shyam Jagannathan, Director General of Shipping, Government of India, emphasizing the country’s growth as the fifth largest economy globally and its policies of economic liberalization. Discussions centered around the promotion of the North-South and East-West corridors, with a focus on the importance of the INSTC route and the significance of Chabahar Port in enhancing trade connectivity. The event also saw discussions on optimizing logistics processes and international infrastructure projects related to India.
