New PureBallast 3 Ultra Skid Unveiled at SMM 2026

Alfa Laval Launches Pureballast 3 Ultra Skid Ballast

Alfa Laval has launched the PureBallast 3 Ultra Skid, a skid-mounted version of its advanced ballast water management system, at SMM 2026. This new design meets customer needs by integrating biological treatment performance with a compact, prefabricated structure that reduces installation time and footprint. As shipyards increasingly seek efficiency and standardization, the demand for factory-assembled solutions has risen.

The PureBallast 3 Ultra Skid features a complete treatment system preassembled on a compact skid, complete with prefabricated piping. This approach streamlines installation by providing shipyards with a standardized module, significantly minimizing engineering efforts and complexities associated with individual component installations.

Utilizing the same cutting-edge technology as the PureBallast 3 Ultra, the skid operates without chemicals, combining high-performance filtration and enhanced UV treatment for effective biological disinfection in various water conditions, including low-clarity environments. With tightening environmental regulations, this system ensures compliance across different salinities.

Designed entirely by Alfa Laval, the skid is factory tested and ready for connection, facilitating quicker installations and reducing project complexity. It supports capacities from 32 to 600 m³/h and is connectivity-ready for remote monitoring and service support throughout a vessel’s operational life. The system is type approved by the IMO and the U.S. Coast Guard.
