Höegh Autoliners has implemented real-time monitoring of their ships to improve voyage planning and reduce environmental impact. Their LNG-fueled vessel already achieves a significantly lower carbon intensity indicator of 58% compared to standard vessels of its size, and produces minimal sulfur emissions while reducing particulate and NOx emissions by up to 90% and 30% respectively.
Kongsberg Digital provided the cloud infrastructure for the system, allowing data from all onboard sources to be collected and presented in a clear and accessible format through various applications. This data enables Höegh Autoliners to optimize fuel consumption by identifying ideal routes, predict and address potential maintenance issues to prevent extended downtime, and automatically report regulatory requirements.
The implementation of real-time monitoring technology not only improves operational efficiency for Höegh Autoliners but also demonstrates their commitment to environmental sustainability by reducing emissions and fuel consumption. By leveraging data analytics and cloud technology, they are able to make informed decisions that benefit both their business and the planet.
