Ras Al Khaimah is set to become the fourth region in the world, after the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy, to construct giga-yachts. Kleindienst Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RAK Ports to establish a state-of-the-art maritime facility in the region. This facility will include four sections, with the first section named “Viking” focusing on the design and construction of a 144m giga-yacht, the first of its kind to be built outside of Europe.
With the construction of this giga-yacht, Ras Al Khaimah will not only join the elite group of regions constructing giga-yachts but also become the first destination in the GCC region capable of building such vessels. Josef Kleindienst, Founder and Chairman of Kleindienst Group, expressed gratitude to the UAE Rulers for creating a business-friendly environment for innovative maritime projects.
The partnership between Kleindienst Group and RAK Ports aims to advance the marine industry and foster economic growth in the UAE. The maritime facility will comprise sections dedicated to various aspects of shipbuilding, including the construction of giga-yachts, underwater living experiences, barges, supply vessels, and passenger transportation. Additionally, the facility will host a Maritime Academy and ensure the delivery of quality and expertise through a Supervisory Board consisting of experienced professionals in the industry.
