DP World’s Mundra terminal recently received the first call of the ME11/IMX service as part of the Gemini Cooperation, a partnership between Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk aimed at improving global trade connectivity. This service enhances trade links between the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and Europe by offering direct weekly connections from Mundra to key ports like Port Said, Valencia, and Jebel Ali.
Operated by 12 vessels with an average capacity of 16,000 TEUs, the ME11/IMX service provides fast, flexible, and reliable ocean freight transportation. DP World Mundra also hosts the Shaheen/UGS service, another offering under the Gemini Cooperation, providing direct weekly connections to Upper Gulf. Ravinder Johal, DP World’s Chief Operating Officer, highlighted the importance of this collaboration in strengthening India’s trade ecosystem.
DP World Mundra’s infrastructure includes a 632-meter quay, deep draft capabilities for large vessels, and a 50-acre Container Freight Station with dedicated rail connectivity for seamless cargo movement. With round-the-clock operations and high-security standards, DP World Mundra plays a vital role in facilitating faster and more reliable trade flows for Indian exporters and importers. The addition of Gemini Cooperation services further solidifies DP World Mundra’s position as a critical gateway for international trade.
