Corvus Energy has received Type Approval from Lloyd’s Register (LR) for its Dolphin NxtGen marine battery system. This approval confirms that the energy storage system meets the strictest rules, regulations, and safety standards in the maritime industry, as set by one of the leading class societies. The design of the Dolphin NxtGen Energy system builds on the successful Corvus Orca ESS, known as the world’s most widely installed marine battery system. Key features include passive single-cell Thermal Runaway isolation and a TR gas exhaust system, optimizing space and weight efficiency crucial for vessel design.
The Corvus Dolphin NxtGen Energy battery system is suitable for both small and large installations where minimizing weight and maximizing space are essential. The system’s design has been recognized by LR, Bureau Veritas, and DNV, with plans to seek approval from additional maritime classification societies in the future. Fredrik Witte, CEO of Corvus Energy, expressed satisfaction with the LR Type Approval, highlighting the system’s adherence to high safety standards required in the maritime sector.
With the Dolphin NxtGen Energy system meeting LR’s stringent requirements, Corvus Energy continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing safe and efficient energy solutions for the maritime industry. The company’s focus on innovation and compliance with industry standards positions them as a trusted provider of marine battery systems. The pursuit of additional type approval certifications from various classification societies underscores Corvus Energy’s dedication to ensuring the highest levels of safety and performance for their products.
