Daphne Technology and Maran Gas, part of the Angelicoussis Group, have successfully concluded a pilot project deploying the SlipPure™ Plasma-Catalytic Methane Slip Aftertreatment system on the LNG carrier Maran Gas Chios. This marks a significant step in addressing methane slip, the unburned methane emitted from dual-fuel marine engines, which poses a challenge for LNG-fueled vessels.

The SlipPure™ system, retrofitted on the Maran Gas Chios, demonstrated its effectiveness by achieving reductions of up to 4 ± 2 g/kWh in methane slip during real operational conditions. This trial validates the feasibility of plasma-catalytic abatement technology at sea, paving the way for further development.
