OmniAccess, a leading provider of digital solutions for the luxury cruise and superyacht industries, has launched NextGen Fusion 2.0. This innovative service aims to enhance maritime communications by moving beyond traditional single-network models to a more integrated, orbit-agnostic framework. As demand for seamless streaming, remote work, and cloud applications increases, vessel operators face challenges managing various satellite providers and service agreements, complicating operational efficiency.
Fusion 2.0 addresses these issues by consolidating low Earth orbit (LEO) and geostationary orbit (GEO) services into a single operational agreement. Key features include a unified subscription model that allows vessels to access multiple satellite carriers through one contract, a shared data allowance that optimizes data usage across networks, and consumption-based routing that enables dynamic data consumption based on real-time availability. This framework is designed to be scalable, accommodating future medium Earth orbit (MEO) and additional LEO constellations.
By eliminating reliance on individual carriers or orbital altitudes, Fusion 2.0 ensures robust global coverage and high-performance connectivity, even in remote maritime areas. Carlos Carbajal, CEO of OmniAccess, highlights the industry’s shift towards orbit-agnostic connectivity, emphasizing the need for a more efficient commercial framework that meets the demands of modern maritime operations without compromising resilience or performance.
