Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd (VISL) is gearing up to become operational by September-October and has started recruiting staff for various positions. Though the total number of employees needed has not been disclosed, VISL and Adani Ports are actively hiring workers. The port will require experienced engineers, ship and port operations specialists, young professionals, graduate engineers, and graduates in mathematics and natural sciences.
Adani Ports is recruiting fuelling engineers, ship planners, welders, ship fitters, crane operators, electrical and mechanical engineers, yard planners, and tower controllers for ship and container handling duties. The state-run ASAP training centre is providing training for graduates and managers to prepare them for specific roles at the port. Female applicants from the surrounding districts will receive preference in the hiring process.
At the training centre in Vizhinjam, individuals are being prepared for various positions within the port, such as container handling and operating internal vehicles. These roles require specialized training to ensure safe operations within the port environment. As more ships arrive and staffing needs increase, additional training and hiring will take place. VISL and Adani Ports have cautioned potential applicants against fake job offers, emphasizing that recruitment is done directly through their websites.
