Maritime Experts Investigate Mysterious Shipwreck Timbers Revealed on Nantucket
A maritime expert will investigate a Nantucket beach after a nor’easter exposed weathered wooden beams, possibly from a 19th-century shipwreck. The Egan Maritime Institute’s collections manager will evaluate the site, collaborating with state archaeologists to trace the wreck’s origins, linked to the Warren Sawyer, a schooner that sank in 1884.
