Marine Travelift, based in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, has recently launched its new Electric Series mobile boat hoists after extensive design, manufacturing, and testing. The 700-volt battery-powered system for their 50BFMII boat hoist can lift up to 50 metric tons and operates similarly to a traditional Marine Travelift, but without the emissions of a diesel engine. The goal was to create a zero-emissions boat hoist that maintains the quality, work capacity, ease of use, and efficiency expected by customers.
The Electric Series offers all the features and options available on diesel-powered boat hoists, including electronic all-wheel steering, top beam extension, work/drive lights, and two-speed hoists. Extensive performance testing was conducted over an 18-month period in various conditions to ensure optimal performance. The hydraulic functions are powered by a reputable world leader in electric components, and the batteries are made in the United States.
The E-Series machines prioritize safety, with multiple layers of safety features and temperature regulation for the batteries and electric motor. The system can be fully charged in 8 hours with a recommended 30kW high-speed smart charger, allowing for 10 to 14 vessel lifts in a day on a full charge. Marine Travelift takes testing and customer satisfaction seriously, dedicating extra time to ensure the product meets expectations. The Electric Series underwent thorough testing, including use at a local marina during the fall haul out season.
