Everllence has successfully completed the factory acceptance test (FAT) for its inaugural ammonia-burning engine, developed in partnership with Hyundai Heavy Industries’ Engine & Machinery division in South Korea. This dual-fuel engine, the Everllence B&W 6G60ME-LGIA, is intended for a vessel under construction for Singapore’s Eastern Pacific Shipping at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries. Notably, the engine features High Pressure Selective Catalytic Reduction (HPSCR) technology.
Scheduled for delivery in October 2026, this vessel will be the world’s first equipped with the Everllence 6G60ME-LGIA ammonia engines. Ole Pyndt Hansen, Senior Vice President at Everllence, hailed this achievement as a significant milestone, emphasizing its role in advancing zero-carbon propulsion and digitally connected performance.
The ME-LGIA engine was first introduced at an event in Copenhagen in November 2025. It shares many advantages with Everllence’s existing engines that utilize methanol and LPG, while incorporating enhanced safety features tailored for ammonia, including containment systems and double-walled piping.
Everllence plans to release the ME-LGIA in various bore sizes, including G50, S50, S60, G60, G70, and G80, along with retrofit options to meet market demands.
