Azerbaijani Mariners Injured in Drone Strike off Odessa Coast

A civilian merchant ship, the “Atlas Bey,” carrying Azerbaijani citizens was targeted by a drone near Odessa, Ukraine, according to a report from the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. The incident occurred on July 14 at approximately 3:15 p.m. local time and involved the vessel, which is operated by the Turkish Okean Maritime company.

Of the ship’s crew, 11 members are Azerbaijani nationals. Following the attack, all crew members, except the captain, were safely brought ashore in Odessa. Their health is reported to be satisfactory. Efforts are currently underway to locate the captain, who remains unaccounted for.

The Azerbaijani Embassy in Ukraine is actively engaged with local authorities and relevant agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens.
