On a tumultuous day in the Strait of Hormuz, the US initiated its Project Freedom evacuation program while Iran targeted multiple vessels and an oil terminal in Fujairah. US Central Command reported that two US-flagged ships successfully navigated the Strait as part of this mission. Notably, the Maersk-owned car carrier Alliance Fairfax completed its transit without incident, reinforcing its role in the US Maritime Security Program.

In response to perceived threats, the US eliminated seven Iranian fast boats that had been harassing commercial shipping in the region. Since the onset of conflict with the US and Israel on February 28, Iran has exerted significant control over the Strait, effectively obstructing commercial shipping. Iranian forces retaliated by attacking ships, the Fujairah oil terminal, and even launching missiles towards Dubai.

A drone strike on the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone ignited a significant fire, injuring three Indian nationals. Reports indicate that the South Korean-owned, Panama-flagged cargo ship HMM Namu was also hit by an explosion while anchored off Umm Al Quwain in the UAE. Additionally, a tanker linked to ADNOC was struck by drones in the Strait, prompting strong condemnation from the UAE regarding the Iranian attacks.

Meanwhile, US Central Command disclosed that its blockade of Iranian ports has redirected 50 vessels since operations began on April 13, further escalating tensions in the region.
