Poland Joins North Atlantic Maritime Security Initiative

Poland will join a European and Canadian initiative focused on enhancing maritime security in the North Atlantic, Arctic, and Baltic Sea regions. This decision was announced following a bilateral meeting between Norway’s Defence Minister and Poland’s Minister of National Defence at the Warsaw Security Forum. According to the Norwegian Ministry of Defence, this collaboration reflects a growing commitment among European nations and Canada to take greater responsibility for the security of Allied territories.

The initiative was originally launched in July during the NATO summit in Ankara, with Norway playing a key role in its proposal. With Poland’s inclusion, the initiative now counts 13 participants, expanding the collaborative effort to bolster maritime security in these critical areas.
