Dubai Maritime City’s Lease Activity Multiplies Sixfold in First Three Quarters

Dubai Maritime City Leases 572,000 Sq. Ft. In Nine Months

Dubai Maritime City (DMC) has reported a significant uptick in activity, signing 18 new leases in the first nine months of 2026. These agreements encompass over 572,000 square feet of industrial and commercial space, resulting in a revenue increase that is six times higher than the same period last year. The ship repair and marine manufacturing sectors are leading this growth, demonstrating DMC’s appeal as a hub for maritime businesses.

Companies at DMC can opt for either a one-year lease that is renewable annually or a 25-year Musataha agreement, allowing them to establish their own ship repair or shipbuilding facilities on-site. Many businesses taking advantage of prebuilt units are already operational, while those with Musataha agreements are currently in the construction phase.

The new leases indicate a strong confidence in Dubai as a strategic base for both regional and international markets, with 72% of the agreements finalized after February. This trend highlights the commitment of companies to invest in long-term infrastructure and equipment, enhancing the region’s repair capacities and service offerings for shipowners and operators.

Additionally, DMC has launched its second Maritime Business Centre, a premium commercial tower valued at AED 160 million, which expands the Grade A office capacity within Dubai’s maritime and trade ecosystem. Dubai continues to rank as the top maritime city in the Arab world and 11th globally, underscoring its importance in the maritime industry.
