Advanced Crane Training Simulator for Maritime Crews in Amsterdam

Spliethoff Group has launched a state-of-the-art training simulator in Amsterdam, designed specifically for seafarers. This innovative simulator enables crews to practice crane, cargo, and ballast operations in realistic conditions. By simulating vessel movements caused by waves, currents, wind, and lifting operations in real time, the facility allows teams to engage in challenging scenarios within a controlled environment.

Beyond crew training, the simulator serves as a valuable tool for preparing complex maritime projects. Operational teams can conduct virtual dry runs prior to actual onboard operations, allowing them to evaluate procedures and operational limits beforehand. This proactive approach enhances safety and efficiency during real-world operations.

This Amsterdam facility marks the second simulator established by Spliethoff Group, following the introduction of a similar setup in Manila in December 2025. With dedicated training centers in two strategic locations, Spliethoff Group demonstrates its commitment to enhancing the skills of its crews and fostering the sharing of operational knowledge for the next generation of seafarers.

The new simulator plays a crucial role in supporting the preparation and execution of specialized operations across the Spliethoff Group fleet, further solidifying the company’s dedication to excellence in maritime training.
