A group of young men, including four from Andhra Pradesh, has been stranded on the coast of Iran for several months. Their cargo vessel has been immobilized near Bandar Abbas port due to ongoing conflicts in West Asia. Reports indicate that the ship’s management has failed to provide adequate support to the crew, leaving them without sufficient food, drinking water, or salaries.

Currently, there are 13 crew members on board, comprising four foreign nationals and nine Indians. Among the stranded seafarers are Somaraju from Vizianagaram, Durga Prasad from Amadalavalsa, Jerri Vishnu from Srikurmam, and Parapati Ramana from Parapativanipeta in Srikakulam.

In a recent video message, the crew expressed the severe hardships they have endured over the past few months. They reported a significant shortage of food, with many surviving on just one meal per day, and have also experienced prolonged outages of electricity. Concerned family members have reached out to the government, urging them to facilitate the safe return of the stranded sailors.
