Container Feeder Vessel Sinks Off Singapore, Crew Rescued
On Friday night, the small container ship Golden Star 1 sank in the Strait of Singapore shortly after departing. By 10 PM, the vessel began taking on water and submerged three nautical miles north of Batam. Fortunately, the Indonesian Coast Guard rescued all nine crew members, with no injuries reported.
