Brunvoll has recently inked a deal with Tersan Shipyard to supply propulsion and maneuvering systems for two 150-meter, 16,500-dwt stainless steel chemical product tankers. These vessels, to be owned by Tune Chemical Tankers (TCT), a subsidiary of Tersan Group, are designed by Norden Ship Design House in Istanbul, Turkey. The contract also includes an option for two additional vessels, showcasing the potential for future collaboration between the companies.
The delivery from Brunvoll includes a comprehensive shaft line solution featuring a reduction gearbox, controllable pitch propeller, tunnel thruster, and Brunvoll’s Propulsion and Thruster Control system, BruCon PTC. This system is designed to optimize fuel consumption and enhance maneuverability during operations. Additionally, the gearbox is equipped with a clutch for fully electric propulsion and a take-me-home functionality, as well as a clutch for utilizing the main engine and PTO as a generator set while in port.
