The 54th National Safety Week 2025 at DEENDAYAL Port Authority (dpa) was kicked off by Chairman Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, Irsme, with a ceremonial lamp lighting ceremony at dpa, Kandla. The event was attended by several dignitaries including Shri C. Haricandran, Deputy Chairman (I/C), and Shri JK Rathod, Chief Vigilance Officer, along with high-ranking civil servants, stakeholders, employees, and representatives of unions. The opening ceremony featured traditional rituals and the presentation of plant seedlings symbolizing sustainability and security.

Various initiatives were highlighted for the 54th National Safety Week at dpa, including Virtual Reality (VR) simulator-based driving safety training, security competitions, a Mega Medical Campaign for employee well-being, screening of security films, and PSA (Personal Protective Equipment) demonstration campaigns. Firefighting exercises and security awareness programs were also conducted for employees and their families, along with security fun games and training sessions for students at BVM School, Kandla.

Chairman Shri Sushil Kumar Singh praised the introduction of the DPA security manual and emphasized achieving a goal of zero accidents in the workplace in line with India’s vision 2047. Participants were encouraged to actively engage in the week-long security initiatives to continually improve safety standards at the port. The event concluded with the introduction of the dpa security anthem – “Jevan Raksha – Sankalp of Safe Life”, signifying a collective commitment to security and a safe work environment. The organization’s unwavering dedication to promoting safety and a developed, secure nation was highlighted throughout the National Safety Week.
