All nine crew members of a cargo ship that sank near the Greek island of Andros have been successfully rescued in a well-coordinated emergency operation. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, local media, and the national coast guard, the vessel experienced distress in the Aegean Sea. The cargo ship was carrying hundreds of tons of soda from Albania to Ukraine when it reportedly struck rocks near Andros, leading to its submersion.

During the rescue mission, two crew members were retrieved directly from the sea, while the other seven were evacuated from a rocky area on the island where they had taken refuge. All survivors have since been taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation. Although the operation was successful despite challenging conditions, maritime authorities are still investigating the precise cause of the accident.
