Bernhard Schulte Offshore (BSO) has officially received the Windea Clarke, the last of four commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs) in its newbuild series. The vessel will soon begin a seasonal charter for an offshore wind project in the UK North Sea. Christened on June 30 at Ulstein Verft in Norway, Windea Clarke enhances BSO’s fleet, which now consists of seven vessels.

Windea Clarke, like its sister ships, features Ulstein’s TWIN X-STERN design, hybrid battery propulsion, and is prepared for future methanol use. It holds the DNV SILENT-E class notation, ensuring compliance with stringent underwater noise emission standards through advanced propeller design and noise-reduction measures.

Equipped with a height-adjustable walk-to-work gangway, elevator tower for personnel and cargo transfers, and a 3D motion-compensated crane, the vessel also includes a boat-landing system for crew transfer and a helideck. Named after electrical engineer Edith Clarke, the vessel represents BSO’s commitment to enhancing offshore project support while minimizing environmental impact.

Matthias Müller, BSO’s Managing Director, emphasized that Windea Clarke will bolster their ability to deliver efficient services across various phases of offshore energy projects. Gunvor Ulstein, CEO of Ulstein Group, noted that this delivery marks a significant milestone in their partnership with BSO.
