India showcased its potential at Seatrade Cruise Global 2026, held from April 13 to 16 at the Miami Beach Convention Centre. This leading event gathered global cruise lines, port authorities, and industry experts to discuss trends and innovations that will shape the future of the cruise sector. The Indian delegation, appointed by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, included prominent officials from various ports and tourism sectors.
Key discussions on the opening day involved the delegation attending sessions and engaging with the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), emphasizing India’s policy initiatives to boost cruise tourism. CLIA acknowledged the Indian government’s efforts and expressed willingness to help align India’s cruise framework with global standards.
Throughout the event, the delegation connected with major global cruise operators like Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean to explore ways to enhance cruise calls at Indian ports and develop attractive itineraries. Engaging with stakeholders and visiting key infrastructure hubs like Port Miami and Port Everglades were also on the agenda.
With over 650 exhibitors in areas such as cruise technology and shipbuilding, Seatrade Cruise Global highlighted Asia’s rapid cruise tourism growth. India, boasting a vast coastline and strategic plans under the Cruise Bharat Mission and Maritime India Vision 2030, aims to establish itself as a prime cruise destination. This participation is expected to elevate India’s profile in the international cruise market.
