Engineers India Ltd (EIL), a state-owned enterprise, has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Directorate General of Maritime Administration (DGMA) to enhance India’s maritime infrastructure. Signed on July 24, the agreement outlines a collaborative framework where EIL will provide engineering consultancy, technical advice, and project management services to support the maritime regulator in planning and executing various projects.
Under this partnership, EIL will utilize its extensive expertise in hydrocarbon, marine, and offshore engineering to assist the DGMA in boosting India’s maritime capabilities. The scope of work encompasses feasibility studies, infrastructure planning, technology integration, and capacity enhancement, along with other specialized services to be jointly identified.
The collaboration aims to leverage EIL’s strengths in engineering, project management, and sustainability to facilitate the implementation of maritime projects. This initiative aligns with the government’s goal of developing world-class maritime infrastructure, which is essential for fostering economic growth.
Moreover, the partnership is expected to enhance operational efficiency, promote sustainable practices, and accelerate the adoption of modern technologies within the maritime sector. The DGMA operates under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, while EIL functions under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
