Maritime cooperation has long been a key component of the broader strategic relationship between the two nations.

Mauritius has initiated its Port Louis harbour modernization, focusing on upgrades to container handling and cruise infrastructure. Partnering with India is expected to bring technical expertise, project collaboration, and strengthen trade and logistics links between the two countries.

The container terminal project will increase efficiency, expand handling capacity, and reinforce Mauritius’s position as a transshipment hub in the region.
