Tehran: Iran’s newly established authority responsible for the Strait of Hormuz has announced a complete closure of the vital waterway until further notice. This decision follows an overnight declaration by the Revolutionary Guards, citing escalating tensions attributed to aggressive actions by U.S. forces in the region.

The Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) communicated via a post on social media platform X that the closure is a response to the recent military provocations. They emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz will remain inaccessible until additional updates are provided.

The PGSA also advised individuals who have already received transit permits to exercise patience while awaiting further instructions. The situation remains fluid, and stakeholders are urged to stay informed as developments unfold.
