The IRClass Academy, the training division of the Indian Register of Shipping, recently held a successful three-day Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) training program in Mauritius, aimed at professionals in the port and maritime sector. This program was meticulously designed to align with international maritime security standards, focusing on equipping attendees with essential knowledge and skills for implementing and managing port security measures.
A significant aspect of the training was its emphasis on practical learning. Participants engaged in hands-on workshops and interactive exercises that allowed them to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. Many attendees noted the program’s exceptional depth and practical focus, with some describing it as being “at a different level.”
Mr. Trilok Purryag, Chief Human Resource Officer of the Mauritius Freeport Development Company, praised IRClass Academy for its role in enhancing the skills of maritime professionals. He expressed gratitude for the Academy’s contribution to upskilling personnel and bolstering the nation’s port security readiness.
