Two tug vessels, Ocean Jade and Ocean Morganite, were arrested at Paradip Port due to a maritime contract and commercial dispute, involving a claim of ₹428 crores filed by Alphard Maritime Limited. The arrest was carried out in the presence of Kujanga Sub-Judge Chinmayee Panda, following directives from the High Court. The case revolves around the sale and purchase of seven tug vessels, leading to the immediate detention of the two vessels passing near Paradip Port.
The vessels will remain detained at the port until the next hearing scheduled for April 30. In response to the arrest, Kujanga Sub-Judge Chinmayee Panda ordered both Ocean Jade and Ocean Morganite to be moved to the port’s anchorage.
