Paradip Port Floats Tender for 1 MW Green Hydrogen Plant

Paradip Port Authority has called for online bids from qualified firms for Project Management Consultancy services to establish a 1 MW electrolyser-based green hydrogen plant and acquire eight hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric buses. This initiative aims to enhance clean energy adoption in maritime infrastructure and promote zero-emission transportation in Odisha. The consultancy work is estimated to cost Rs 2.18 crore, excluding GST, and involves preparing feasibility reports, technical specifications, and assisting in bid evaluations and project implementation.

The proposed project will encompass a 1 MW green hydrogen generation system, including hydrogen compression and storage systems, safety features, and automated refuelling stations, alongside the procurement of eight 32-seater fuel cell electric buses. The consultant will oversee site safety studies, project execution, and a three-year maintenance period.

Bidder qualifications require experience in similar consultancy services related to electrolyser-based green hydrogen plants over the last seven years, with specific financial thresholds. The tender process, which started on August 12, 2026, allows submissions until September 2, 2026, with bids remaining valid for 180 days.

This project marks a significant step in incorporating green hydrogen into India’s port infrastructure, positioning Paradip as a leader in clean energy solutions within the maritime sector.
