Varuna Marine Services recently unveiled a new product at the SMM Hamburg 2024 event aimed at supporting compliance with the FuelEU Maritime initiative. The FuelEU Maritime solution, integrated into the company’s CyberSmart platform, offers features for optimized fuel management, real-time emissions monitoring, and advanced data analytics. Leveraging AI and machine learning, Varuna’s flagship platform, CyberSmart, helps streamline maritime operations to ensure vessels meet the stringent criteria set by the regulation.
In addition to its FuelEU Maritime solution, Varuna Marine Services also offers data management and verification services through its integration with DNV’s Veracity Partner program. This is essential for accurate compliance reporting as the European Green Deal’s FuelEU Maritime regulation sets ambitious targets for reducing the carbon intensity of shipping fuels. The regulation aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions within the maritime industry, requiring ships calling at European ports to progressively increase their use of cleaner fuels to reduce their carbon footprint.
Sanjeev Wewerinke-Singh, Director at Varuna Marine Services, emphasized the significance of the FuelEU initiative in the journey towards sustainable shipping. The new product launch is specifically designed to help clients navigate the complexities of the regulation, pushing for cleaner fuel alternatives and encouraging innovation across the maritime industry. This launch aligns with Varuna’s mission to provide cutting-edge solutions that assist clients in meeting regulatory requirements while enhancing operational efficiency.
