Ambassador Cruise Line, initially focused on the UK market, is expanding its niche operations beyond mainstream competitors. Recently, it was revealed that Ambassador purchased Oceania Cruises’ Sirena, which will be utilized to enhance its presence in the German market, building on its recent expansion into France. The Sirena, a 30,000 gross ton ship, was sold as part of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ fleet modernization efforts and will continue to operate with Oceania until spring 2028.
Founded in 2021 as a successor to Cruise & Maritime Voyages, Ambassador Cruise Line aims to fill a gap in the market for affordable, quality cruise experiences. The line emphasizes its commitment to providing a welcoming atmosphere that combines classic cruising traditions with contemporary standards. Currently, Ambassador operates two ships: Ambience, a 70,000 gross ton vessel launched in 1991, and Ambition, a 48,000 gross ton ship that began service in 2023.
Ambassador has recently merged with the French cruise line Compagnie Francaise de Croisière (CFC), rebranding its operations to Ambassador Croisiere. This integration is expected to bolster the company’s financial stability and operational capabilities while paving the way for further growth across Europe. The company is now targeting the German market with its new brand, Ambassador Kreuzfahrten, which will introduce the Sirena as Ambella, offering unique, adult-only cruises starting in the summer of 2028.
Additionally, Ambassador will operate seasonal winter charters for the Institute for Shipboard Education, enhancing its educational cruise offerings. The company aims to become Europe’s leading affordable cruise line for the silver market, focusing on delivering intimate and authentic experiences at accessible prices.
