Gossip column Page Six reports that Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is selling his impressive $500 million megayacht, Koru. Sources indicate that the decision stems from the yacht’s increasing visibility, which has made it “too recognizable” for the billionaire tech mogul. Renowned for its striking three-masted design and 417-foot length, Koru features a unique life-size bust of Bezos’ second wife, Lauren Sanchez Bezos, carved from wood and embellished with gold trim.

As one of the largest sailing yachts globally, Koru boasts an extensive sail plan and is typically accompanied by a support vessel named Abeona, valued at $75 million. This support yacht serves as a helipad, accommodating Sanchez, who is a helicopter pilot. It remains uncertain whether Abeona will be sold separately or alongside Koru.

The yacht’s sheer size presents challenges, including substantial annual maintenance costs in the eight-digit range. Additionally, Koru struggles to dock at many specialized port terminals designed for smaller yachts, often being seen in less glamorous areas near warehouses rather than upscale locales. The yacht even faced difficulties during its construction, as it needed to navigate under the historic Koningshaven Bridge in Rotterdam, leading to a discreet nighttime departure without its masts.
