The DEENDAYAL Port Authority (DPA) Kandla achieved a significant milestone by successfully docking the Cape Schiff MV Golden Barnet at Cargo Jetty No. 6 on the night of April 26, 2025. This vessel, measuring 292 meters in length with a draft of 12.98 meters, carried a substantial load of 96,587 MT, marking the first direct handling of such a large ship at the port since a similar vessel docked four years earlier.
The loading operations involved a collaboration of multiple stakeholders, including Shree Ashapura Stevedores, Aditya Birla Global Trading, Shri Balaji Infraport, and Dariya Shipping, whose combined efforts ensured a smooth process. The commitment and operational excellence of Shree Ashapura Stevedores played a crucial role in achieving the necessary discharge rates.
Dariya Shipping’s contributions were also vital in facilitating this operation. The DPA acknowledges their integral role in this success, which further highlights the authority’s dedication to enhancing operational efficiency and service excellence.
With this achievement, the DEENDAYAL Port reinforces its status as a leading port in India, continuing to push boundaries in maritime excellence, efficiency, and innovation within the shipping sector.
