Close to 200 senior executives from 62 member companies of the Hydrogen Council, alongside Indian industry representatives, convened at the Kandla Forum 2026. The event focused on harnessing Kandla’s green hydrogen and clean fuel potential to attract investments, forge technology partnerships, and initiate projects. Organized by the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) under the theme “Anchoring Maritime Decarbonisation,” the forum united stakeholders from various sectors, including hydrogen, clean energy, shipping, shipbuilding, engineering, technology, and finance.
The forum aimed to foster direct collaboration among global technology providers, developers, manufacturers, and DPA leadership, with the goal of accelerating the establishment of a green-fuel and maritime decarbonisation ecosystem at Kandla. This initiative is crucial as the demand for sustainable energy solutions continues to rise.
DPA currently operates a 1 MW green hydrogen plant and is developing additional facilities to enhance its green hydrogen capabilities. The port has also successfully conducted India’s first methanol bunkering trial. Furthermore, infrastructure for land, power, and water is being optimized to support the production of green hydrogen and its derivatives. Kandla is recognized as a key port in studies related to the India–Europe green shipping corridor.
