Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing visited the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) in Navi Mumbai with a 67-member delegation to explore opportunities for cooperation in India’s maritime sector.

During the visit, the JNPA provided insights into its infrastructure, operational performance, capacity expansion, and sustainability initiatives. A significant focus was on the Vadhvan Port Project, intended to be one of India’s largest deep-draft ports, which aims to boost regional maritime trade.

President Min expressed a strong interest in India’s port operations and emphasized Myanmar’s readiness to collaborate on enhancing maritime connectivity and trade. The JNPA highlighted the importance of this visit in showcasing India’s maritime capabilities and fostering stronger India-Myanmar ties, crucial for connectivity and trade within the broader Indo-Pacific region.
