On May 2, Yemen’s coast guard announced that the M/T EUREKA oil tanker was hijacked off the coast of Shabwa province. Armed individuals, whose identities remain unknown, boarded the ship, took control, and redirected it towards the Gulf of Aden, heading in the direction of Somali waters.
