AM Green, in collaboration with the founders of Greenko, has entered a partnership with the Port of Rotterdam Authority to establish a green energy supply chain between India and Northwestern Europe. This agreement, worth up to $1 billion, aims to facilitate the annual trade of 1 million tonnes of green fuels, connecting India’s growing green hydrogen sectors with Europe’s largest energy port.
The memorandum of understanding outlines plans for supplying sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) and bunkering fuels, alongside assessing the necessary terminal infrastructure in Rotterdam and the broader supply chain. This partnership will also enhance strategic port infrastructure for the secure distribution of hydrogen-based fuels from India to Europe, aligning with both India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission and Europe’s decarbonization objectives.
AM Green aims to achieve a capacity of 5 million tonnes of green ammonia production by 2030, with initial production set to start in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, in late 2026. The Kakinada facility, estimated at Rs 12,500 crore, will include a green hydrogen unit and ammonia conversion plant targeting European export markets, having already secured agreements with industry players like Uniper and Yara.
